Egg Drop Project
Part One: The Drop
Materials must be scavenged and built by you.
No groups. The more drop devices the merrier.
Egg container dimensions must not exceed 30 cm on each side
Eggs can be wrapped in a leak-proof plastic package, such as a zip-lock bag. I will provide the egg.
The egg can not be supported or embedded in a filler type substrate ( ie. mayonnaise, cream of marshmallow, peanut butter etc. )
No Tupperware or plastic/rubber containers. Your mother will be furious.
Parachutes of any type must not be used. The container must be in free fall.
No foams, glass, diapers, helium balloons, rotten food, jello or relatives.
No purchased packing materials are allowed (bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc.)
Containers must be able to open to check on the egg. Quick access.
Drop Day Procedures
On the day of the egg drop we will mass the container without the egg in it.
We will make one drop for each person and have 3 timers for each drop. Record all times and calculate the average time.
We use the 3..2...1. Drop! protocol
Will I fail the class if my egg breaks?
No. We will be completing an analysis of your dropper after the event.
