Illusions and paredolia
Pareidolia refers to the human tendency to see faces and other patterns in noise. In addition to being visible, pareidolia can also be auditory in nature and this phenomenon is a form of apophenia, a tendency to create patterns where none exist. It can be for fun, like seeing patterns in clouds, the man in the moon, or George Washington's face in a chicken nugget, but sometimes people start thinking that the things they are seeing are really there.
Here are some fantastic Youtube links dealing with paredolia:
Bogosity Part One
Bogosity Part Two episode covers famous paredolia from the songs "Revolution #9" by The Beatles, "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin, "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen, and "...Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears. Bogosity Part Three covers electronic voice phenomena (EVP) often cited by "ghost hunters" as evidence for baby monitors....I mean ghostly encounters. Do not miss the "Pie for maureen around her shed" bit. Funny stuff.

Pareidolia is the psychological term for seeing faces and other familiar things in random patterns like clouds. Paredolia can be an aural (hearing) as well as visual (seeing). Many people are familiar with it: silly claims that playing songs backwards reveals some some saying, or very silly claims that you can record and hear ghost voices on tape. These are simply our goofy brains trying to tease information out of noise.
The funny thing about this is that if someone primes you — shows you what you are supposed to hear — then man, you can really hear it.

Here is the Japanese edition lyric sheet of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song:
“The coming of the cold will drive our ships to new lands
I want to go where there’s a rest and a show
I sometimes feel so green,
and whisper Tales of Storms.
Howling come, the tides are warm
We are an overload
Always seek, push it on,
I want to go where there’s a rest and a show
Peace (and just get with it)! Disband, all you losin’s!”

These are the actual lyrics:
“The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands
Our only goal will be the western shore
How soft your fields, so green,
can whisper tales of gore,
of how we calmed the tides of war
We are your overlords
On we sweep with threshing oar
Our only goal will be the western shore
for peace and trust can win the day despite of all you’re losin’”
